On Thursday Kazakh national oil and gas company KazMunaiGas is planning to sign with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources a contract for exploration and extraction of hydrocarbons at Myortvy Kultuk block, the company said on Wednesday.
The block lies in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea.
The license area is 7273 square meters; the water in the exploration block is 1-2.5 m. The recoverable oil resources as per C-3 category at Myortvy Kultuk block are estimated at 164 million tons.
At the first stage the company plans to carry out geophysical and geological surveys and drill two exploration wells.
