Stefan Scholz

Managing Director,
Head of Investment Banking

Stefan joined Visor Capital in February 2006 and is responsible for the Investment Banking business, including the Advisory, M&A, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets and Structured Finance divisions. Stefan has 17 years experience in banking and gained extensive experience in the origination and execution of medium and large-scale investment banking transactions across different industries in the U.S., Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia at both JPMorgan Chase and Dresdner Kleinwort. Stefan studied Economics and Business Administration in Germany and the U.K. and holds a full-time MBA from the Henley Management College. He is an honorary speaker at major international conferences and member of the International Advisory Board to the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the regulation of activities of the Regional Financial Centre of Almaty (RFCA).

Jose Luiz Gaviao

Managing Director,
Head of Debt Capital Markets

Jose Luiz Gaviao joined Visor Capital in April 2007. Before joining Visor he was involved in the restructuring of Fair CCVM, a Brazilian broker-dealer on behalf of its owner, a private Swiss investor. Prior to that, he worked nine years at ABN AMRO, where at the time of his departure he was Director for all Debt Capital Markets activities in Brazil. During his tenure he was responsible for domestic and cross-border origination and domestic syndication and distribution, having had postings in Amsterdam, New York and Sao Paulo. He holds an MBA from University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Martin Peter Orbesen

Director,
Mergers & Acquisitions

Martin joined Visor Capital in 2008 and is the Director responsible for Mergers & Acquisitions within the Corporate Finance department of the Investment Bank. Martin has more than 13 years of experience with Corporate Finance and has in-depth knowledge of origination, analysis and structuring/execution of medium and large scale transaction within various Sectors and from a global perspective, primarily US, Europe and Middle East. Martin’s experience also extends into Private Equity and Venture Capital and as such he has extensive knowledge of Business Planning / Modeling / Development and Corporate Strategy/Governance. Martin holds a dual MBA degree in Corporate Finance and Corporate Law from primarily Copenhagen Business School as well as Business & Law Schools in US and Europe.

Sanzhar Kozybayev

Director,
Investment Banking

Sanzhar joined Visor Capital in March 2006 and was previously Executive Director at Visor Investment Solutions where he was responsible for M&A transactions and financial advisory. Before joining Visor, he was CFO of geophysical company JSC KazakhstanCaspiShelf and CFO of a Caspian maritime construction company, Keppel Kazakhstan LLP. Additionally, he gained extensive experience in Assurance and Business Advisory Services at PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Sanzhar holds an MA degree from the Kazakhstan Institute on Management, Economics and Strategic Researches, and a BS in International Economic Relations with honors from the Kazakh National University.

Adam Westcott

Vice President,
Equity Capital Markets

Adam joined Visor Capital in September 2007. Prior to joining he was Associate Director with the Natural Resources and Energy Team of Noble & Company where his role covered AIM flotations and M&A transactions. Previous to this Adam worked as a management consultant initially at LEK Consulting before moving in-house to work at the Financial Times Group and more recently at the BBC in London. Adam holds a Master of Engineering from the University of Oxford.

Dameliya Akhmetova

Associate,
Equity Capital Markets

Dameliya Akhmetova joined Visor Capital in May 2006. Dameliya has gained an invaluable experience being involved in major deals of Visor Capital executed since its inception, including IPO of KMG EP and acquisition of Bank Center Credit by Kookmin Bank. She has an extensive knowledge in pre-IPO advisory services, financial and business due diligence and company valuations. Dameliya holds a Master’s in Global Banking and Finance degree from European Business School of London ( UK) and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kazakhstan Institute of Management and Strategic Research (KIMEP).

Aldiyar Balzhanov

Associate,

Aldiyar Balzhanov joined Visor Capital in November 2006. Before joining Visor he worked as a Consultant in the Corporate Finance Department of Deloitte, where his experience included M&A transactions in the building materials industry, oil&gas and telecommunications. At Visor Aldiyar has been involved in a number of multi-sector M&A transactions, including the acquisition of Bank CenterCredit by Kookmin Bank. He holds a Master’s degree from Cass Business School (UK) and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business from University College London (UK).
