February inflation in Kazakhstan this year was 0.8% and 1.1% from January, the National Statistics Agency told Interfax-Kazakhstan on Monday.
According to the Agency, in February the prices for food products grew by 0.6%, services (0.2 %), non-food products (1.8%).
The annual inflation in Kazakhstan (February 2009 vs. February 2008) made 8.7%, the prices for food products increased by 8.6%, nonfood products 5.9% and services 11.5%.
According to the statement issued by the National Statistics Agency the annual average inflation (January-February 2009 vs. January-February 2008) was 8.7%.
The statistic agency reported a rise in food prices for dairy and meat products (0.3%), sugar (1,1%), fish and seafood (1.2%), fruit and vegetables (1.5%), alcohol and tobacco products (2,7%), coffee, tea, cocoa (5.8%). The prices were down for vegetable oil (4.6%,) eggs (3.3%), flour (1.3%), rice (0.3%) and bread (0.1%)
Prices for detergents rose by 8%, hygiene products (5.8%), medicines (4.6%), home appliances (3.8%), audio and video equipment (3.3%), cutlery (1.9%), books and newspapers (1.7%). Gasoline and diesel fuel rose in price by 1.2% and 0.6%.
Gas supply through distribution network fell by 0.8%, electrical power was 0.5% down, sewage services - 0.2% down.
Public transport services also declined by 0.3%.
In 2008 inflation was 9.5% and in 2007 - 18.8%.
